31st August 2009 is our 52nd Hari Merdeka, Malaysia Independent day. In Penang, we celebrate this occasion in full force. You may find many display the national flag on their vehicles, buildings and homes as a symbol of love for the country.

Merdeka eve countdown (30th August 2009) will be taking place at several locations.

(1) Juru Auto-City with Hip Hop dancing and celebrities from 6pm to midnight.

(2) Queensbay Mall

This annual event is incomplete without the midnight sales at Queensbay Mall where they have their Merdeka crazy sales with big discount from their participating outlets.
